EVA Remote

EVA is currently taking expressions of interest in the One Step Ahead program for Term 1 of 2020 and the Christmas holiday period. EVA Remote is also open to individual families with children enrolled in a School of the Air or School of Distance Education.

We want to ensure that people everywhere – not just those in city areas – have access to music lessons. So we created EVA Remote. This program provides people in remote communities with new options in learning to play the violin.

One Step Ahead

In situations where it’s practical to gather students into one physical location but there’s no qualified instructor on hand, our One Step Ahead program allows one musically-inclined person to receive weekly training and, if desired, supervision of classes, via Skype.

All One Step Ahead classes offer:

  • 10-week course
  • Flexible start (begin the course whenever you want)
  • A weekly half-hour Skype lesson for the supervising teacher
  • All course material included
  • Discounted access to our popular ‘Quick Fix’ Skype lessons
  • Weekly direct debit available
  • $10 discount for up-front payment
  • 15% discount for groups with 10 or more students.

We have two options available:

Unsupervised classes

For the confident teacher or parent already comfortable with leading in a classroom environment; perhaps with some prior violin or music experience.

One of our teachers will provide weekly one-to-one Skype instruction for one teacher or parent, who is then responsible for teaching the class.

Pricing – ebook

  • Groups of fewer than 10: $9.50/week or $85 upfront, per student.
  • Groups of 10 or more: $8.25/week or $72.50 upfront, per student.

Pricing – printed book*

  • Groups of fewer than 10: $11.50/week or $105 upfront, per student.
  • Groups of 10 or more: $9.95/week or $89.50 upfront, per student.

Supervised classes

We recommend this option if the supervising teacher or parent has no prior musical or violin experience – especially if they might be inexperienced or uncertain leading a group learning environment.

In addition to the standard weekly half-hour teacher instruction, one of our trained, experienced and friendly instructor will help supervise the running of the class via Skype. This is especially useful to people who are inexperienced in either teaching or violin, and allows our instructor to provide expert feedback and leadership to the person leading the class.

Pricing – ebook

  • Groups of fewer than 10: $13.50/week or $125 upfront, per student.
  • Groups of 10 or more: $11.65/week or $106.50 upfront, per student.

Pricing – printed book*

  • Groups of fewer than 10: $15.50/week or $145 upfront, per student.
  • Groups of 10 or more: $13.35/week or $123.50 upfront, per student.
